Kathy Burton Avsar, Jungian Analyst

Ph.D., LPC, LPC-S, NCC

Dr. Avsar is a licensed counselor and supervisor in the state of Alabama, a member of the board of the Interregional Society of Jungian Analysts, and on the faculty of the New Orleans Jungian Seminar. She has a private practice in Birmingham where she works with individuals on their journey toward wholeness.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012 and completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Walden University in 2015. Born on a dairy farm in La Fayette, Alabama, Kathy has worked as a carpenter in Houston and a firefighter in Birmingham. She returned to school in 2005 to finish a degree started in 1976.

She believes that life is a meandering adventure with many twists and turns.
